I don't think all my posts will be nature puns.

But in thinking of a theme for this website, I tried to imagine a space I'd like to come back to all the time, a sanctuary of sorts. IRL I tend to a lovely community garden plot by the municipal river. It's perfectly accessible by foot, but is tucked just far enough away from the road to be a sort of refuge for me. Few things fill my cup as much as the gentle breeze, sunlight peeking through the canopy of tall trees, and picking the yellow raspberries that grow on the common paths.

And so, a concept was born! Adjacent to my studies in counselling, I've also dabbled in the field of 'horticultural therapy' - it's well-known that horticulture improves both overall and targeted measures of psychosocial wellbeing.

That's just a fancy way of saying "dirt feel good."

I'm tending to myself by taking my hobbies in a new direction, and this site is a place to seed those interests and watch them mature.
